Summary
In 2012, Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime Services together with stakeholders including NSW Police Force, NRMA Motoring & Services, local councils, Rural Fire Service and the community were involved in a route safety review of the Kings Highway. The Kings Highway forms an integral part of the NSW transport network. It provides one of the main east-west routes crossing the coastal escarpment between Wollongong and the Victorian border. The highway is the major link from the ACT region to the Princes Highway and the South Coast. It also connects a major part of the Southern Tablelands to the South Coast.
